The Schools and Teaching Unit of the BASE Millennium Institute coordinates the educational activities carried out in schools across different regions of Chile, including student talks, teacher professional development, and the distribution of educational resources tailored to the characteristics and needs of each school community. Its work aims to strengthen Antarctic education through initiatives that respond to local social and territorial contexts, fostering a lasting connection between scientific research and the education system.
The Antarctic Educators Network aims to help ensure that Antarctic education moves beyond the individual commitment of educators and becomes a systematic and sustainable component of the education system. Through collaboration with school communities, specialists, and partner institutions, the network seeks to support the strengthening and future integration of Antarctic content into Chile’s national curriculum, as defined by the Ministry of Education, promoting broader, more consistent, and more meaningful Antarctic education.
