Antarctic Education in Chile

The book Antarctic Education in Chile: Experiences, Lessons, and Future Perspectives brings together more than 40 testimonies from teachers, research teams, and educational communities connected to the White Continent. It is a free publication produced jointly by the BASE Millennium Institute and the Antarctic Youth Coalition Foundation.

Developed through a collaborative effort to highlight Antarctica’s strategic, ecological, and educational significance within the Chilean education system, the book offers a comprehensive perspective that goes beyond individual disciplines. It aims to foster an active Antarctic awareness in classrooms while encouraging new ways of understanding and engaging with the continent.

With three chapters and more than 40 articles, and contributions from nearly 60 authors from across Chile, the book showcases the sustained and interdisciplinary work led by the BASE Millennium Institute in cities such as Puerto Williams, Punta Arenas, Valdivia, Concepción, and Santiago on Antarctic-related topics.

The book is available as a free download at the BASE books page.
